The author drags the story along with the same protagonist Ravin from his previous book. The author has etched the other protagonist in this book very shabbily. I feel pity for Simar, who deserved more and better details in the book than being portrayed as an immature and horny girl. Ravinder Singh had taken much care in sketching out the character of Khushi in his first book, but this time it seems he almost left Simar to the mercy of the readers. It rains kisses in all the chapters, as if the author is obsessed with his protagonists kissing to express every emotion.
The climax too, seems to be abrupt and forced. If Simar had a change in heart in coming back to Ravin, it had to be written in a much more convincing way. I still cannot fathom how writing whole sentences in Hindi help in an English novel. The vernacular flavour can be translated in most occasions, if not all.
Its easier to put in Hindi sentences than try and extract their essence into English ones. I guess the author chose the easier path. I still appreciate the humongous effort it takes to write a book and adorn it with finishing touches. Nevertheless, the fruits of such labour might not always be delectable. Dec 21, Book'd rated it it was ok. When I compare this book with Ravinder Singh's earlier book "I too had a love story", I am little disappointed.
This book particularly lacks the depth, Its a very common type of story. Ravin was so deeply in love with Khushi whom he lost in an accident and he falls in love with another girl in Belgium, just upon seeing her.
After that he never mentioned his first love Khushi at all in the entire book except the final pages of final chapter. His first book really touched the hearts of millions inclu When I compare this book with Ravinder Singh's earlier book "I too had a love story", I am little disappointed. His first book really touched the hearts of millions including mine, but I am not sure about this one.
The story line is on a very common platform. He once sees Simar in Belgium, developed feelings for her, she also fell in love with him, some Belgium romance, they decided to get married, he get back to India, then the priorities changes for Simar, she becomes demanding, Ravin tries to manage but failed miserably and so on. This is how the novel progresses. Yes this book will make you little emotional in the end but doesn't appeal me much.
In the end tt also seems that author has planned a third novel in this series.
A one time read but not strongly recommended. Sep 27, Rishi Prakash rated it liked it. I finally picked up when i was stuck at an airport after my flight got delayed so had few hours to read it straight! The second book is almost same as far as writing goes exception being many lines in hindi which i think was not required in an english book but the story is no where close to the first one.
Having said that, it is still worth one read for the simplicity and Indianness! I see a movie being made in near future too: Apr 29, Dhriti Govind Raj rated it it was ok. A good one yet again by Ravinder Singh.
The concept is touching again, but this time around the book captures an essence of the "modern day love story" wherein you tend fall in and out of love at the drop of a hat and very surprisingly, it hardly any effort doing so. Ravinder gives light to the present scenario of love stories, which makes it a good read as you can relate to it pretty well. Again, a must read, I should say. But don't expect too much out of "Can Love Happen Twice?

I do not know what came over me. I mean, his first book was a clusterfuck of grammatical errors and sob stories, and what do I do? I decide to read his second book. To be fair, I felt like the man deserved a second chance.

Some people do learn, you know? But not Ravinder Singh. No siree. And so I repeat: Ravinder Singh is in need of a thesaurus, a dictionary, and all the Wren and Martin grammar books in the world. Jesus Christ, this is utter crap. Jul 06, Gayatri, eine Leseratte rated it did not like it. In a way, this book ruined "I too had a love story" for me. His first book was sweet, simple and it touched my heart but this story is too artificial to be written by the same author.
I don't know, but I just couldn't connect with this book. Was quite disappointed after reading it. Dec 25, Jigar rated it it was ok. I didn't like much compared to the previous one. Jun 14, Srikanth rated it liked it. Can Love Happen Twice Author: Ravinder Singh Genre: Romantic Fiction TagLine: Do you think being loved is that important in your life that you tend to loose grip of your life if your loved one leaves you.
Do you really need a rehabilitation if you are going through a break up. These are some questions I got while I was reading this book.
The book had nothing new in it. Having a bright start with the radio Title: I even went to think that Ravinder Singh knows the pulse of the readers, but once the book reached the core point where the love starts between the lead characters it falls flat. It had nothing new. The narration was pale and slow, the ending was predictable. I am giving it a modest 3 on a scale of 5. Ravin could not live up on the high expectation which I had on him after reading his first book.
As happy starts the narration, we are introduced to few characters from Berlin, where ravin will be working on his onsite project. The Good Bit The Book starts of very brightly. Ravinder, though was writing fiction for the first time, had grip on the plot. Soon, Ravin had to go back to India as his project over there was over. And when they met a it is a heart touching story about the author who had lost his loved one Khushi on a car accident and then went away to Belgium to find a new purpose of his life.
And when they met again in India, both showed the other to their parents, both were quite convinced. Simar wanted independence, freedom. But for Ravin, figuring out from both Simar and her father Simar broke with him. Sweet story Sep 19, Akshansh Upadhyay rated it really liked it. Does cupid strike just once, or can people fall in love all over again when they meet someone new?
The book traces Ravin's life after his success as a novelist, and he's invited, along with his friends, to a special Valentine's Day program in a popular radio station in C Does cupid strike just once, or can people fall in love all over again when they meet someone new?
The book traces Ravin's life after his success as a novelist, and he's invited, along with his friends, to a special Valentine's Day program in a popular radio station in Chandigarh. As people across the country tune in to listen to his heartbreaking love story, the novel takes a stunning turn — Ravin doesn't show up during the program.
His friends Manpreet, Amardeep and Happy read through Ravin's unfinished second book to find out where he is, and listeners from across Chandigarh are taken through an emotional ride when Ravin's next tryst with love comes to light. I loved the narration of the book, how Simar made Ravinder the character fall in love. How Ravinder the character started feeling for her, protective about her, like she is a baby to be taken care of.
Ravin made Khushi immortal, with you - through you. Nothing could be better than I too had a love story. This is one love story which will remain with me forever and ever. The book is not that good, Could be because 'I too..
I loved the first half, liked it mid way, but as it proceeded the book lost me, I just wanted to finish the book. Mar 14, Ashutosh Kumar rated it did not like it. To Ravin's answer to his question asked on the coverpage is NO! It could've been yes but after completely reading this book the answer is sure-sure no. I found something missing in the sequel. Perhaps 'the honesty'. As said in the reviews posted by others somewhere the soul was missing. When I was reading his first novel 'I too had a love story', I got numb during climax.
Though we all know that was a true story it was worth reading it. It was so heart-touching and painful that it was really har To Ravin's answer to his question asked on the coverpage is NO!
It was so heart-touching and painful that it was really hard for me to control my emotions during the last few pages but the case is totally opposite with the 'Can love happen twice'. It failed to take me where author intended to. And I would say that Ravinder Singh is a good writer but his first novel was far far better than its sequel. The emotions which were attached with the lovestory of Khushi and Ravin couldn't be replaced by the Simar and Ravin's story.
Climax looked quite fragile and it disappointed me to a great extent. It took me more than two weeks to complete it as it failed to intrigue me and I kept on moving on slowly. But one thing can be learnt through this edition that love happens only once when it's the kind of the one Ravin did with Khushi.
I would love to read something better from Ravinder Singh in the future as I wait for it. Jan 08, Nidhi Khanna rated it liked it.
Can Love Happen Twice?
I actually picked this book after all the hue and cry that has been created around it. Thus forcing me to read the preceding one. Being a non romantic book lover, i thought i would have to endure not one but two to figure that deal on this one. I'm glad i did The first one was strictly average, however the ending is well written in terms of the emotion and not the writing as much.
Though even while i say average it does bring tears to ones eyes. The second book though the author seems to have got I actually picked this book after all the hue and cry that has been created around it. The second book though the author seems to have gotten a better flare at it and forced me to finish it in a day An intriguing part of the book is when the author actually talks about how the meaning and definition of love has changed for this generation The story line- a little predictable however Ravin is the kind of person and love a lot of people would like to have in their lives.
The story at one point takes your heart out to him as I am certain most us relate to that love and lost and passion and despair at some level. That's what makes this book touch ones heart and special This book brings to my mind the saying "It's not that we don't value what we have in life, until it is lost. We just don't think we would ever lose it" and Ravin shows value for it In all worth a read and worth investing a little time into Jun 02, Apurva Mehta rated it did not like it.
The answer to this title is 'No, it can't happen twice'. I read 'I too Had a love story' long back. Have been waiting for the second book since long.
During November I got a mail from Flipkart for the pre-booking of 'Can Love Happen Twice' and within next five minutes, the order for the book was placed. When I ordered this book from flipkart, I really had some great expectations from the author, considering his previous book "I too had a love story" was such an amazingly touching tale of love. But, The answer to this title is 'No, it can't happen twice'.
But,I am sorry to say that I am thoroughly disappointed with this new venture of his which merely seems to be an attempt to encash from the past success. There is nothing creative, new or intersting about this book, it is the same old story which goes pretty much one track and gets to cleache at many points in the book.
The start of the story where the friends go to a radio station and start reading from his diary are cringe worthy.
This author's previous book "I too had a love story" had set a bench mark for him but sadly he has wasted the good start with a nonsense material. Mar 30, Devina Dutta rated it it was ok. I had heard a lot about Ravinder Singh's bestselling book "I too had a love story" and wanted to give it a try. Unfortunately for a whole wide range of reasons , the book shop had his sequel"Can love happen twice? Filled with unnecessary promotion of his maiden novel and amateur english, this novel was, to say the truth, horrible to the core!
Unreasonable and unbelievable incidents occur making the reader ask himself one question again and a Bad!
Unreasonable and unbelievable incidents occur making the reader ask himself one question again and again Only the concept and change of scenes from stereotypical Punjabi homes give this book some credit and from me The author was banking on his earlier success to make this one work but sadly enough, it definitely did not work.
May 26, Anand rated it really liked it. When I started reading this book, it sounded boring to me as typical it was like other love stories. Bt whn she starts to refuse to marry him giving out primary reason lyk wanna live only with u and not with ur family a tinge of astonishment run down by spine since the same events are happening to me after getting married for me now.
I loved a girl for more than 5 yrs and got married to herself too. But she gets disgusted wen I speak abt my parents about staying with us after retirement.

I had won When I started reading this book, it sounded boring to me as typical it was like other love stories. I had wondered Is this happ only to me or everyone.
Book was completely practical. Atlast book ended up giving impression of nice book. Thanks ravinder. Dec 27, Shruthi rated it did not like it Shelves: Why did I read the sequel to a book I hated? I already owned it and I'm really trying to make a reading challenge All the flaws from the first book apply. This one is actually somehow more misogynistic.
I hate to break it to you, Ravin, you knowing how to cook is nothing special. Oh and the answer to the title? Yes, love can happen twice. But we Why did I read the sequel to a book I hated? But we really don't need a book about everytime you fall in love. It's kind of like the book version of Taylor Swift.
